- What is the deal with publishing Packages?
There are two major costs associated with any book, the pre-publishing cost and the printing cost. Our Pre-Publishing Packages have been created to offer you the quality of a traditional publisher coupled with the independence you enjoy as a self-published author. To this extent, we only charge you only for the services we offer. You are free to choose from any of our publishing plans.
- What is Xpress Publishing?

- I want to publish using the Xpress publishing platform. But I don’t know how to create the cover and interior. How do I proceed?
The Vidit Publication House Xpress publishing platform helps you create professional looking interiors and covers for your book. The platform was created with the intention of making publishing a child’s play. Using it is very easy.
Alternatively, in the Resources page of this site, we’ve provided interior and cover templates that can be downloaded along with instruction manuals on how to use them. You also have the option of getting the cover and interior designed by our experts using our premium services.
- What on earth is an ISBN?
ISBN stands for ‘International Standard Book Number’. It’s basically a 13 digit identification number that book sellers and libraries use to identify books, magazines, newspapers or other publications. A separate ISBN is assigned for Paperback, Hardcover and eBook versions of your book.
- Who owns the rights to my book?
You retain all the rights to your book! We exist to help you reach the market via our distribution partners and act as a publishing label. We work with a non-exclusive publishing agreement meaning, we don’t own any of your content and you can even publish it elsewhere if you wish.
- How do I set the selling price of my book?
The selling price of a book is dependent on its production cost. The Calculate Royalty feature on the Vidit Publication House website helps you know the production cost of your book based on its page extent, size and format. With this you can set the retail price of your book and ascertain the royalty that you would receive.
- How many copies of my book will you print?
Vidit Publication House offers managed inventory services. Stay in stock and never worry about paying for additional print runs of your book. Print more, sell more. It’s all covered.
- How many books will I sell?
Some authors sell one or two copies, some sell thousands. All our channels should be treated as distribution platforms, not sales platforms. Your book may be available via all our distribution partners, but in order to sell copies you should consider ways to promote or market it. This may be as simple as creating a blog or contacting people to review and write about your book. With a concerted effort, a good book can become a great seller!
- Can I track how many books I’ve sold?
You can track the sales of your book on your author dashboard. You can also see your earnings, track pay out and order copies of your book at a subsidised price.
- How and when are profits distributed?
Profits from your book are distributed monthly via Bank Transfer. You are required to submit an Indian bank account during the publishing process. Profits will be paid to this nominated account within 30 days of the end of each month.
- Will I receive post publishing support?
At Vidit Publication House, we strive to keep all our authors completely satisfied with our services. You will receive support from our Author Support Team for all your post publishing queries over e-mail or phone, as applicable.
- Will Vidit Publication House create and distribute an eBook version of my book along with the paperback version?
eBook creation and distribution is available in the Guided Publishing mode and can be taken as an add-on service if you choose to publish using the Xpress publishing platform. With the eBook creation and distribution service, we’ll create the epub and mobi files of the book and distribute it through Kindle, Google Play, Kobo and iBooks.
- I’ve published my book using the Xpress publishing platform. But I’m not sure how to go about marketing it. Can you help?
You can choose marketing services as add-ons even after publishing in using our Xpress platform. A Publishing Consultant can guide you through the process of choosing an appropriate marketing service for your book.
- Where can I find good images to create my own cover design?
It’s very important to source copyright-free images to create the cover of the book. If you’re looking for free sources of copyright-free images you can try a Google Image search with the filter ‘Labelled for reuse with modification’ turned on or sites like pexels.com, unsplash.com, pixabay.com and stocksnap.io. But make sure you check the licensing of each photo. You may be required to attribute the source in your book.
